All holidays provide a great opportunity for us to get together with our loved ones to enjoy good company, delicious food, and seasonal drinks and cocktails. Easter is one of the next big holidays that provide us with a reason to gather and celebrate. Some at your gathering this year may not want to drink alcohol, but that doesn’t mean they can’t celebrate with something “cool” to drink too. Serve the following non-alcoholic drinks this Easter, so you can include all your guests in the festivities.
Creamy Peach Punch
Creamy peach punch is a hybrid combination of a milkshake and punch, perfect for the kids and adults attending your Easter gathering.
You’ll need the following ingredients.
(Makes 6 cups)
- 1 liter of lemon-lime soda
- 32 ounces of peach juice
- 24 ounces of vanilla ice cream
- 8 ounces of frozen peach slices
To Make
Allow the vanilla ice cream to soften for around ten minutes at room temperature, then scoop it into a large serving bowl. Pour in the lemon-lime soda and peach juice. Stir until you combine everything into a sweet, creamy punch. Add frozen peach slices as a garnish to help keep the punch cold. Delicious!
Strawberry-Herb Sweet Tea
(Makes 4 servings or about 4 cups)
Strawberry pairs well with multiple herbs, so you can choose the herb you want in this fruity sweet tea. Many choose basil or mint, although you can also use lemongrass, rosemary, or lavender, depending on what flavors you want in your tea.
You’ll need the following ingredients to make this tea.
- ½ pound of fresh strawberries
- ¼ cup of granulated sugar
- ¼ cup of your chosen fresh herb (I like mint)
- 2 family-sized black tea bags
- 1 cup of water
To Make
Pour the fresh strawberries, sugar, and water into a medium saucepan and boil it over medium-high heat. If you have an electric stove, you may want to turn the stove on before you pour the ingredients into the pan. Electric cooktops heat slower than gas ones, which is one of the reasons people love gas cooking stoves. Regardless of the type of cooktop you have, boil the strawberry mixture for thirty seconds to one minute, and then simmer for 10-15 minutes until the strawberry mixture is thick.
Pour the strawberry mixture into a blender and blend for about thirty seconds. Now pour the mixture into a bowl, mix in your herb, and allow the mixture to cool for about ten minutes. Strain the solids and chill. While the strawberry-herb syrup chills, brew your black tea. Stir in one cup of the strawberry syrup, allow the strawberry-herb sweet tea to chill for an hour, and then serve.
Mocktail Moscow Mule
(Makes one cocktail)
Hosting an outdoor spring brunch for Easter or any other reason means providing drink varieties for your guests. If your guests are in the mood for a spicy spring mocktail instead of a sweet one, then a non-alcoholic Moscow Mule is perfect.
You’ll need
- 1 fresh lime or 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon of simple syrup
- ¼ cup of club soda
- 3-4 mint leaves, torn or crushed
- ¾ cup non-alcoholic ginger beer
- ice
To Make
Pour the lime juice, simple syrup, and club soda into the bottom of the cup, then add mint and your desired amount of ice. Pour the ginger beer overtop and serve.
These non-alcoholic drinks you can serve this Easter bring delicious variety to your event table. Each offers a springy flavor that you and your guests of all ages will love to sip on. Make sure to use fresh ingredients whenever possible to provide the best taste of spring
