Christmas in Old Quebec – Joyeux Noël!
The Holidays are definitely here!
I’m headed up to Quebec, Canada from Dec. 7th to the 10th.
This city is about as “French” as it gets in North America and as you can guess is steeped in a wonderful culinary tradition.
It is also a winter wonderland that truly comes alive during the Holiday Season.
The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel will be home base as we explore the beautiful city of Old Quebec
The intention of this trip is to pick up the sights, sounds and flavors of this world-class Canadian city during Christmastime.
Just a quick interesting fact … Quebec is also where Canada’s largest Christmas tree is displayed. Pretty cool, eh!!
I’ll be visiting the beautiful Christmas market that this city is well-known for, Québec’s oldest Christmas market, the Marché de Noël d’Antan de Cap-Santé.
And, of course, no trip to a culinary mecca such as this would be complete without attending a cooking class!
So, off to the “Ateliers et Saveurs” where a technique class on the making of delicious macarons will be held on Saturday!
This is a very special trip that will give us all some great insight to the “French-Canadian” way of celebrating Christmas! Culminating all this with the tastes and flavors of a very culinary-oriented city, we have ourselves a serious “kick-off” to Christmas and the Holiday Season!
