Buongiorno friends!
I recently returned from an extensive and beautiful road trip through southern Italy, starting in Rome and ending in Reggio Calabria. When you’re that close to Sicily, it’s almost impossible not to take the short ferry ride over. The ferry from Reggio brings you to Messina and from there it is about a 40-50 minute cab ride to beautiful Taormina. I spent a day in Taormina, and it was well worth the trip. Now I’m going to share with you a secret. I came across a FANTASTIC Cannoleria, I Dolci di Nonna Rosa.
All the cannoli are freshly made-to-order. They make the shells from an old family recipe and offer a wonderful variety. So, next time your in Taormina definitely stop by (ask for Edoardo), and have an authentic and delicious Sicilian treat. Oh, and make sure to tell them chef Franco sent you!
