With the pandemic finally showing signs of coming to an end, you may be excited to start reconnecting with friends and family again at summertime barbeques and parties. Everyone knows that finger foods play a big part in any fun get-together. And the best way to celebrate the end of the pandemic is with food that’s easy to make and enjoyable to eat. Here four easy-to-make finger foods to include at your next party. Some of them may be new to you and others might be old-time favorites. Either way, they are all absolutely delicious!
Potato Croquettes
Croquettes are round (ball), elongated, or pancake-shaped mashed potatoes that have been breaded and fried. They can also be made with the addition of chopped bacon and filled in the center with your favorite cheese. It’s easy to see why croquettes are so delicious, if not downright sinful. These finger foods can often be one of the most popular party favors on a table. Make plenty of them, or they’ll likely vanish before your very eyes!
Mozzarella Sticks
Mozzarella sticks are the all-time favorite fun finger food for any occasion! Kids can’t get enough of them because they are such fun to eat and that stringy mozzarella cheese is just so delicious. Mozzarella sticks are crispy, with a melted cheese interior, and fun to stretch. This makes them a party favorite over and over again.
Salsa Macha
Chips and dip are practically a necessity for a party, and there’s no better dip than a tasty salsa. For example, my spicy shrimp salsa will be a much-welcomed site at your friendly get-togethers.
However, you may not have tried salsa macha before. It is wildly popular in Veracruz Mexico and it’s quickly beginning to tantalize the tastebuds of people in the United States. It is made of dried chiles, garlic, nuts, and seeds fried in oil and finely chopped and mixed together. Salsa macha is a nuttier salsa with a distinctly smokey flavor and crunchy texture that vastly improves the flavor of many dishes. It is not typically used as a dip as in chips and dip. It mostly makes a great condiment for grilled meats, tacos, chicken, and even fish giving these dishes deeper flavor and texture.
Jalapeño Poppers
We have to give Mexico a double feature because they just do great party finger foods right. Jalapeño Poppers are savory just like the other items on this list, but they uniquely provide an enjoyable kick with a hot “pop” of melted cheese in every bite. Jalapeño Poppers typically have cheddar and cream cheese filling and then breaded and deep-fried. However, they’re versatile enough for you to substitute cheeses and use hotter or more mild chili peppers.
